Microneedling – rapid rejuvenation with the help of Dermapen

Microneedling intervention (Dermapen) is a medical procedure that uses devices incorporated with sterile microneedles, operated by an automatic vibratory function. By gently sliding these devices along the face, the superficial layers of the skin are penetrated, forming small channels that stimulate the natural production of collagen. In addition, it delivers nutrients to the deeper layers of the skin.

The treatment thus encourages the body to regenerate through a healing process that results in the formation of a new matrix of collagen and elastin. Moreover, it also improves blood supply. As cell regeneration is activated, the skin is redensified, improving the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and scars.

The microneedling procedure can be used in combination with other dermato-aesthetic procedures, with the aim of maximising the results within personalised schemes established by the doctor.

What does microneedling treatment consist of?

Preparing the skin for the Dermapen treatment involves the use of dermatocosmetic products indicated by the dermatologist and, if necessary, antiherpetic prophylaxis. Local topical anaesthesia can be applied when the treatment is carried out at depths greater than 0.5 mm.

Later, by moving the device (which is equipped with disposable needles), microcanalicles are formed on the surface of the skin, which have the role of stimulating collagen synthesis and providing the active ingredients of the treatment serum applied by the doctor. This serum is chosen according to the condition to be treated.

How long does it take to see the results?

The results are visible after the first treatment, the skin has a brighter and more even appearance. However, the full effects of the treatment appear at the end of the treatment session, which consists of a number of sessions individualised by the doctor, depending on the needs of the patient.
